ROTARY CLUB DONATES HOSPITAL EQUIPMENT |
Lahore (PR) – Rotary Club of Lahore Garrison donated medical equipment
of Rs. 1,000,000 to Safia Hanif Trust Hospital for the treatment of the
poor. The hospital carries out free eye operations and provides free medical
treatment to the poor who come from Lahore and nearby towns for their treatment.
Rotarian Shehzad Ahmed handed over the equipment to Dr. Ijaz Sandhu, the
eye surgeon at the hospital and also pledged to continue support of the
Rotary club for the hospital. The generous donation was made possible with
contributions from Rotary Club of Columbia, South Carolina (USA) and Rotary
District 3250 (India) through Matching Grants from The Rotary Foundation.

ROTARY CLUB EID GIFTS |
LAHORE – Rotary Club of Lahore Garrison distributed clothes and
copies as Eid gifts among the students of their adopted Government primary
school, Lucklines in Cavalry Ground. According to a Press release issued
on Friday, the Rotary District Governor Ashraf Baig, Rotary Club president
Zeenat Rokri and the Innerwheel Club president Dr. Maimoona Ali distributed
gifts among all school children. All school teachers were presented diaries.
Some additional gift items were distributed by Dixy’s, a UK based
fast food chain which has recently opened business in Pakistan. The children
participated in a quiz and sang an Allama Iqbal’s poem to welcome
the guests. Rotarians Shehzad Ahmed, G.R. Siddiqui, Aamir Barry and other
members of the Rotary and Rotaract clubs also attended the ceremony and
resolved to continue their service for the school and its students.

VISIT TO ROTARY CLUB |
LAHORE (PR) – Rotary District Governor N.D. Tanwir visited Rotary
Club of Lahore Garrison on his official visit. The Club members welcomed
him to the meeting. Club president, Rtn. Shehzad Ahmed, highlighted activities
of the club during the current year. He mentioned about the development
work of the Matching Grant Projects of Government Primary School Lucklines
being carried out by the club and also informed about the proposed supply
of medical equipment to Safia Hanif Trust Hospital. The Rotary Governor
N.D. Tanwir appreciated the club’s efforts for the service of humanity.
He also acknowledged the seminars and workshops on topics of national interest
conducted by the club.

ROTARY CLUB AWARDS |
LAHORE (PR)-Rotary Club of Lahore Garrison organized an impressive Vocational
Awards ceremony in a local hotel, the other day. Dr. Tayyaba Nasreen , a
healthcare consultant; Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry, a chemical engineer, and
Mrs. Azra akhayal, a social worker and journalist were honoured for their
outstanding services. Dr. Tayyaba Nasreen is presently running “Save
the Mother Funds Society” and has been doing welfare work for the
Gipsy families in and around Lahore. Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry is the founder
editor of Chemical & Petrochemical News and has been an active member
of Rotary Club. Mrs. Azra Khayal is running Ganj Baksh Hospital for the
rehabilitation of disabled children. PDG A.Q. Alavi distributed vocational
awards among the recipients. Rtn. Shehzad Ahmed, the club president, also
highlighted the welfare work being carried out by the Rotary Club.

SEMINAR |
LAHORE (PR)-Rotary Club of Lahore Garrison and Lahore Central are organizing
a seminar today on “Present Global Scenario and Pakistan” in
which former Foreign Minister Agha Shahi has been invited as the guest speaker.
The seminar will be held today in Lahore University to Management Sciences
(LUMS). Agha Shahi will present the facts before the audience. LAHORE (PR)-Rotary Club of Lahore Garrison and Lahore Central are organizing a seminar today on “Present Global Scenario and Pakistan” in which former Foreign Minister Agha Shahi has been invited as the guest speaker.
